Now the next problem was that when I rebooted, I lost my settings that I had just entered. Turns out I wasn't telling the system to load the tulip module. I forgot the command to do this (my instructions are away from me right now) but it is in the gentoo installation instructions under the kernel section. I also had to change my net config so I used dhcp by default (this is also in the gentoo installation instructions under the network configuration section). I want that pc to have a static IP Address, and use dhcp, but that'll be another weekend project to conquer.

Where can I find out what to build into the kernel and what to build as kernel modules? I'm not too sure about doing anything with the kernel and would like to know a whole lot, but don't know where to look. It looks like gentoo gives a barebones kernel config by default. How does one find out what to enable for the kernel build?
