Unix Systems Administrator needed for a contract-to-hire position located in
Green Bay, WI.  This individual must have experience supporting IBM/AIX and
Linux.  The pay range for this position is $65-80k/year depending upon
experience and qualifications.  This role would provide technical hardware
and software expertise, and effective and timely communication in support of
the UNIX platforms ultimately enhancing our client as a leader in their
industry.

 

DUTIES:

 

1. Assist in the support of UNIX hardware and software systems.

Configure new applications, advise, and upgrade systems.

2. Plan the required maintenance of all software to provide a stable and
reliable environment.

3. Provide innovative ideas and solutions to UNIX platform issues.

4. Ensure the high availability of the UNIX production environment.

5. Develop and assist in the management and performance monitoring of the
UNIX environment.

6. Monitor and manage UNIX system data backups and take appropriate actions.

7. Evaluate, implement, and integrate new hardware and software products and
services.

8. Monitor processor utilization and develop models for processor sizing and
workload distribution.

9. Develop, document and distribute production operational processes for the
UNIX platforms.

10. Assist in the development and testing of the Disaster Recovery Plan.

11. Implement and Support SNI projects including updating project
plans/managers.

12. Implement SNI's quality processes in daily activities.

13. Stay abreast of advances and trends in technology

REQUIREMENTS:

 

1. A four year degree in computer Science or related field, or the
equivalent work experience.

2. Minimum of 2-4 years experience supporting IBM/AIX, Linux, and vendor
software.

3. Systems Administration level of knowledge of IBM/AIX or Sun/Solaris is
required.

4. Client/Server and TCP/IP experience required.

5. UNIX Shell script programming experience required.

6. Administration level of knowledge of Windows is a plus.

7. Relational Database experience a plus with Oracle or SYBASE preferred.

8. General workstation communication skills.
