hola, see you all thursday august 14 at the sports corner in de pere,
starting around 6:30 or 7:00 p.m., right?

anybody got a favorite topic? if not, why don't we meet anyway and eat
pizza and have a beer.

something i'd like to discuss, linux webcams. anybody got one that works
well with ubuntu 8.04? the specs are not too complicated. something more
or less equivalent to one of those $70-$80 Logitech webcams that work so
well with Windows, that'd be good. something like that. any suggestions?

Also, what about discussing how to make openoffice slideshows with audio
or audio/video attached to each slide:

* it's not too difficult to attach audio but i'd like to split the
screen/window into two columns, with the slides on one side and a talking
head (whoever the presenter might be) on the other side.

* possibly also a list of the slides below the talking head, with a slider
to scroll down through the slides so that the viewer can select whichever
slide he or she is interested in. if the viewer doesn't select a slide the
slideshow proceeds from the beginning or from whichever slide has been
selected.

* it would also be nice to pause the audio/video at any point so the
viewer can take notes or goto the coffee machine for refills.
