related question: does anyone know of an inexpensive FXO card, even just one
line, that I can buy or borrow? from what i've seen on the web, the digium
FXO card that i have doesn't work with sipx. (i'm want to connect the sipx
server and phones to the PSTN, in case you were wondering.)

regarding above handset, does anyone know where we can find a similar device
to connect to a desktop / laptop via a USB cable, that would work as a cross
between a softphone and a VoIP phone? I'd like to use these little handsets
in a low-cost sipXecs installation, but instead of having to buy $70
Grandstream or $200 Polycom VoIP phones, or strapping on a headset with a
softphone app, i'd use the USB handset+softphone device.

what would it take to adapt existing analog handsets? or take a headset and
attach the speaker and microphone to a 2x4 wooden block (like 4"-6" in
length) and use the softphone app with gui on the desktop/laptop?
