NEWLUG Meeting Notice:

Thursday, June 17th : 6:30PM-9:00PM

Subject: Python Programming: An Introductory view of the Python Language
(A.K.A. Python for n00bs)

June's presentation will be an introductory overview of the Python
Programming Language.  The talk will focus on the origins of Python,
different uses for the language, and some introductory syntax and concepts.
 We will show you how to write a few lines of code, even if you've never
programmed before.

Larson, NEWLUG President

Ross Larson is the current Head Ninja and President of the NorthEast
Wisconsin Linux Users Group.  During his reign of terror, he has implemented
such ideas as recording NEWLUG presentations and posting them online to
newlug.blip.tv.  He has done volunteer IT work as a System Administrator of
Crossways Camping Ministries as well as IT consulting work for Fox Valley
Lutheran Homes.  He looks forward to his next employment opportunity, and
will share more information about that soon!

John McMonagle will be bringing a camcorder to this meeting to record the
presentation.  Any volunteers to run the camcorder? Email John! (( johnm AT

Still to come:

Presentation topic for July: Mini Presentations!  Volunteers needed for
"mini presentations" of 15 minutes or less (emphasis on the less).  Do you
know of any cool hacks?  Want to share information about your favorite Linux
program?  Tell us about it at the July meeting!  Make sure to email either
John or Ross to let them know what to expect, though!

   $$ for Food- Ross will bring some pizza and drinks, but we can choose to
   supplement the food with Wendy's, Arby's, or having additional pizza
   delivered to us.

   Carry-ins of soda and other beverages are allowed.  Send an email to John
