I've signed up to become an OpenRange Wi-Fi dealer. I'm going to bring
along a borrowed demo unit to the meeting tomorrow night, so we should have
plenty of band-width available. (3 megs up and 3 megs down.)
I just bumped my AT&T DSL speed up to 6 megs down and 1/2 meg upload
speed, but this Open Range box blows past my AT&T link on the DSL speed
tests.
Once I get my formal paperwork back from Open Range, if any of you are
interested in trying Open Range out, I can give you a really great deal if
you sign up. The service has coverage in the immediate Appleton and Green
Bay areas. There probably isn't any coverage in the outlying areas (EG,
Fremont, Wrightstown), but if you can put the box in your attic or some such
place, it just might reach the towers in Appleton of Green Bay. I can let
you borrow a demo unit to test it out after I officially get on-board.
Open Range just inked a deal with Verizon, so they will be able to use
the Verizon towers for 4G/LTE when that becomes available.
